Bayer Leverkusen Reach Europa League Final After Dramatic Draw

Leverkusen overcome 0-2 deficit in stoppage time to secure a 2-2 draw with Roma

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have reached the final of the Europa League after a dramatic 2-2 draw with Roma in the second leg of their semi-final tie.

The Bundesliga side trailed 2-0 with just minutes remaining but goals from Moussa Diaby and Patrik Schick in stoppage time secured a remarkable comeback and a place in the final in Dublin.

Leverkusen had started the game brightly but Roma took the lead against the run of play in the 33rd minute through Nicolo Zaniolo. The Italian winger doubled the visitors' advantage just after the hour mark with a stunning strike from outside the box.

Leverkusen refused to give up and Diaby pulled one back in the 89th minute. Schick then equalised in the dying seconds to send the BayArena into raptures.

Leverkusen will now face Atalanta in the final on May 18th.
